Speaking with IGN, Netflix’s Castlevania Producer, Adi Shankar, divulged many new tibits about the upcoming animated series.
“This is very much Castlevania done in the vein of Game of Thrones,” Shankar said, adding that Warren Ellis (The Authority, Transmetropolitan, Planetary) has written the series.
Just because the series is animated, don’t expect it to be tame, Shankar asserted.
“[It is] going to be R-rated as f***,” Shankar said, adding to past claims it will be “America’s first animated series for adults.”
Shankar also confirmed that Ghost in the Shell, Akira and Young Justice have inspired the art design of Castlevania.
Netflix’s Castlevania series was confirmed yesterday. We’ll have more as it is known.
