Netflix cancels Resident Evil after one season

And to be fair, it's a good call.

Netflix has cancelled its live-action Resident Evil after just one season, Deadline today reports.

The cancellation has come swiftly after the show’s July debut, with Deadline saying it “did not have a particularly strong showing on Netflix’s Top 10 and cost vs. viewing is the streamer’s leading renewal criterion.”

As a giant Resident Evil fan myself, I admit that getting through the season was a bit of a struggle. Lance Reddick as (various iterations) of Albert Wesker proved to be a scene-stealer, but sadly, the show wasn’t really about him.

Did you watch the show, dear readers? Let us know what you think about it in the comments, below.

Resident Evil Season One is available now on Netflix and stars Balinska, Lance Reddick, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Nuñez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gosatti and Turlough Convery.
