NES Classic Mini: Target’s website still in meltdown thanks to this morning’s sale

Update: Almost two hours after its sale began, Target Australia’s website still appears down for the count.

While many eager purchasers were able to get an NES Classic Mini into their shopping carts at 8am AEDT this morning, it’s not clear if anyone was able to actually check out.

Many reported issues even getting a console into a cart, as evidenced by our own tweet:

As of 9.45 am AEDT, the website is active, but directing consumers to a looping countdown.

That said, it is possible to walk away with a console:

We’ll let you know if anything changes.

Original story: Our friends at Vooks have confirmed that Target’s last allocation of the NES Classic Mini will go on sale at 8am AEDT this morning.

Target has confirmed those who intend to purchase will need a Target account before checkout. Do so here.

When you’re all set, the NES Classic Mini listing is here.

Good luck — this may very well be your last shot at securing a console before Christmas.
