NES Classic Mini: One month sales total that of the Wii U over six months

Ars Technica reports that sales of the NES Classic Mini in the USA have totalled that of the Wii U over a six month period.

Over November 2016, the NES Classic Mini sold 196,000 units, compared to 220,000 Wii U consoles between April to September 2016.

In Japan, the Mini Famicom was also in demand, selling 261,000 units in just one week.

Here in Australia, sales figures aren’t known, but one thing is for certain — the NES Classic Mini is just as desired. The console has sold out at all major retailers, with new waves of stock selling out in no time at all. In most cases, retailers’ websites crashed under demand. Repeatedly.

No further stock is expected ahead of Christmas. That being said, Stevivor’s got five alternatives that may brighten someone’s Christmas morning.
