NBA 2K19 Australian cover star is Ben Simmons

The NBA 2K19 Australian cover star has been confirmed as Ben Simmons, 2K Games today advised.

Simmons, named Rookie of the Year, is the third rookie in NBA history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a single season. He holds the Philadelphia 76ers’ rookie record for assists and helped his team finish the season with a record of 52–30, its best performance since 2001.

Better yet, Simmons is described as an “ardent gamer” by 2K.

“It’s a huge honour to be recognised on the first-ever Australian cover for NBA 2K and represent the 76ers,” Simmons said. “The Aussie fans are super passionate about basketball and specifically NBA 2K, so it’s very cool to be an ambassador for both.”

Here in Australia, Simmons will feature on a double-sided inlay that will also display NBA 2K19‘s global cover star, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

NBA 2K19 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch on 11 September. A special anniversary edition with LeBron James is available from 7 September.
