Nacon acquires Daedalic for 53 million Euros

Any others?

Nacon has today advised that it has acquired The Lord of the Rings Gollum‘s Daedalic Entertainment for €53 million.

“The integration into the NACON group will enable the studio to grow its awards-winning development team and strengthen its position as a leading indie publisher,” the pair said in a press release.

Daedalic’s Carsten Fichtelmann and Stephan Harms will remain in control of Daedalic and will do so with”a high degree of autonomy in development and publishing.”

The acquisition totalled €32 million in cash upon signature and includes an earn-out payable for 100% in cash, based on performance until 2026. The acquisition itself is expected to be finalised later this year.

We’re only two months into 2022 and it’s already been a huge year for acquisitions: in early January, Take-Two announced it would acquire mobile game maker Zynga. This was followed by the news that Microsoft intends to acquire Call of Duty publisher Activision Blizzard.

The Lord of the Rings Gollum heads to Windows PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch in 2022.
