MultiVersus to shut down again, this time permanently

That's all, folks.

MultiVersus will shut down once again, this time for keeps. Publisher Warner Bros has announced that the game will go offline at the end of Season 5, which is 31 May here in Australia.

The game will remain playable offline, Warner Bros announced, though will not be available for download after 31 May. Real-money transactions have also been ceased.

“[We] want to thank every player and person who has ever played or supported MultiVersus,” WB Games said in a statement. “All of us on the Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games teams have poured our heart and soul into this game. We will be forever grateful for the incredible support of the MultiVersus community throughout this journey.”

Season 5 kicks off on 5 February and adds Aquaman and Lola Bunny to its roster.

This isn’t the first time the fighter has been shut down — it went offline in 2023, but always intended a 2024 relaunch.

For now, MultiVersus is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5.
