MultiVersus Season 1, Rick and Morty delayed indefinitely

But the open beta will continue.

Released-yet-not MultiVersus will delay its first season and new characters Rick and Morty indefinitely, remaining in a perpetual open beta.

Developer Player First Games announced the delay yesterday.

“We want to let everyone know that we are delaying the start of Season 1 & the release of Morty to a later date,” the developer said on Twitter. “We know this might be disappointing for some and want to assure our Community that we are dedicated to delivering new and exciting content that delights players.

“We’ll let you know the timing as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience & enthusiasm and look forward to unveiling Season 1 very soon!”

The game’s first season was first planned for 10 August here in Australia; Morty was to be released at the same time, with Rick to follow.

MultiVersus is available on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5. We previewed it here and have criticised its microtransations right here.
