Mortal Shell 2 coming 2026

Mortal Shell 2 was today announced at Summer Game Fest, and is expected in 2026.

Mortal Shell II is a standalone sequel action-RPG with adrenaline-charged, high-stakes combat. Possess warrior Shells, dethrone false gods, redeem a ravaged world,” Playstack said of the title.

If you’re new to it, it looks a little like a standard Soulslike, but adds a metal soundtrack (that I hope extends beyond the trailer and into the game), and guns.

Mortal Shell 2 expands upon the core of the original with unrestricted, adrenaline-charged combat, deeper weapon design with extensive upgrade options, and an emphasis on free exploration within a compact and immersive interconnected open world,” reads a press release from Cold Symmetry and Playstack.

Mortal Shell II is the result of our obsession with dark fantasy, action RPGs, and high-stakes combat,” added Cold Symmetry co-founders Andrew McLennan-Murray, Anton Gonzalez, and Vitaly Bulgarov. “It is a vision shaped by everything we love about these genres, distilled into a single, relentless experience.”

Beta sign ups will be taking place soon via the Mortal Shell website.

Expect Mortal Shell 2 on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5 in 2026.
