Mortal Kombat 12 teased by “accidental” leak

Mmm hmm.

Mortal Kombat 12 has been teased by a leak that many believe to be planned by developer NetherRealm.

ResetEra’s CaptainKashup has saved an image Tweeted (and then deleted) by NetherRealm developer Jonathan Andersen. The image features Mortal Kombat and Injustice imagery, but it’s the top-right hand corner of the screen with the delicious new info.

As part of a computer monitor, Andersen has left an open email and several file names on display. The screen has a lot of partial words and phrases inside it, such as “MK12_Mast…”, “Reptile” and a request that recipients not “share any part of this video” because “fans eagerly scrape the internet for any trace” of new information.

While this legitimately could have been an honest mistake, ResetEra’s not buying it.

“Without context, that picture looks very staged,” wrote nihilence.

“Oh no, I left PreOrderMK12ComingSoonToAStoreNearYou.txt on my desktop,” added mnz.

What do you make of the leak? We’ll have more on Mortal Kombat 12 as it’s made available.
