Mortal Kombat 11 Switch physical edition has 16GB day one download

The Mortal Kombat 11 Switch physical edition looks to have a 15.9 GB mandatory day one download, a dataminer has discovered.

According to Twitter’s Nikki, the total size of the fighter on Nintendo’s handheld-console hybrid comes in at a staggering 22.5 GB (including 13 DLC packs), though the on-cartridge file looks to be only 6.5 GB. As in the past with games like Doom, it appears that Warner Bros. is opting for a cheaper physical cartridge and leaving it up to consumers to pick up the slack with the extra download.

A Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 11 is available on Switch, bundling the base game with all of its 13 announced DLC packs. The game also heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 23 April.
