Mortal Kombat 1 is the reboot we were expected; coming September

Fight!

Mortal Kombat 1 has been confirmed by Warner Bros and NetherRealm, a reboot set in a “reborn” universe created by Fire God Liu Kang.

“It’s In Our Blood,” the duo said alongside a reveal trailer, below. “Discover a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe created by Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat 1 ushers in a new era of the iconic franchise with a new fighting system, game modes, and Fatalities!”

Alongside the trailer came the news that Mortal Kombat 1 will be available from 19 September; pre-orders are available tomorrow.

We don’t know a ton about the title as yet, but it will feature a new narrative experience similar to that found within the likes of Mortal Kombat 11. Offline and online combat versus modes will be available as well.

News of Mortal Kombat 1 special editions was also confirmed; we’ve got that for you right here.

Expect Mortal Kombat 1 from 19 September 2023 on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5 and Switch.
