Monster Train 2 coming from Shiny Shoe, published by Devolver’s Big Fan label

And a demo is available now.

Monster Train 2 was today announced by Devolver and developer Shiny Shoe, and for some reason is being published on Devolver’s IP-focused Big Fan label.

“Monster Train 2 cleverly builds on the original’s innovative, vertical three-floor battle system for a new epic challenge revealed in today’s announcement trailer: stopping the impossibly powerful Titans from destroying this world,” reads a press release from the pair.

The title’s announcement trailer is below.

“The only hope lies solely with a once-unthinkable allegiance between the forces of Heaven and Hell,” the announcement continued. “Prepare for a fun yet fiendish journey into the homeworld of the Titans, the Abyss.

“Monster Train 2 pushes your ability to adapt to the fight at hand, and to outwit armies of seemingly unstoppable foes as it takes you from the depths of Hell from the original game and throws you into surprising new environments that await beyond the Gates of Heaven.”

We’ve reached out to Devolver for clarification on why Monster Train 2 will be published using the Big Fan label, one Devolver said would focus on existing IP including the likes of “Dune, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings, Hellboy, Evil Dead, John Wick, Blair Witch, The Power Rangers and more.”

Expect Monster Train 2 on Windows PC via Steam, PS5, Switch, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X later in 2025. A demo is available now via Steam.
