“Most” of Modern Warfare’s PS4 timed exclusive content dropped

Call of Duty Modern Warfare will drop “most” content simultaneously across all available platforms — Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 — Infinity Ward recently confirmed.

The developer confirmed that “most” post-launch content will be available on all three platforms rather than the usual 7-day timed exclusive PS4 period that’s in play inside Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Said content includes “including new multiplayer maps, new multiplayer modes, special ops missions and more.”

At the same time, Infinity Ward did stress that those on PS4 will have “an exciting Day 1 advantage”.

The move away from timed exclusive content does make sense as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is adopting cross-play across all multiplayer modes; having PS4 players with exclusive content would make that rather difficult, don’t you think?

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare open beta kicks into cross-play later this week; the game itself heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 in October.
