Mixtape delayed into 2026 so Beethoven & Dinosaur can “put the knobs on”

That means they need time to polish, y'all.

The Melbourne-made Mixtape has been delayed into 2026, Beethoven & Dinosaur today confirmed.

The statement doing so, of course, was very Beethoven & Dinosaur.

“While developing Artful Escape, our 3D artist Mikey, made an oven asset. It was a nice oven – the work of a true pro. He even put the knobs on,” reads the statement. “And that’s who we are at Beethoven & Dinosaur. We put the knobs on. Mixtape is almost complete, we’re just putting the knobs on. See you in 2026.”

We had the chance to check out Mixtape at PAX Australia last month, and we adored every single second of the demo experience.

Mixtape was already high on my list of the most anticipated games of 2025 — and now, with thirty minutes under my belt, it’s definitely skyrocketed to the top,” I wrote at the time, adding, “I cannot wait to play more.”

Well, as it turns out, I can wait. With all this in mind, I have this to say to Beethoven & Dinosaur: take all the time you need. I can be patient, I promise, and I think it’ll all be worth it.

Mixtape is now planned for a 2026 release on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5. It’ll also be on Xbox Game Pass when available.
