Miiverse closed on Wii U, 3DS

Nintendo has confirmed that its Miiverse social media network is closed on both Wii U and 3DS.

Miiverse functionality on the company’s older consoles has been terminated, and already, titles like Super Mario Maker have been updated to take this into account. This means Miiverse comments can no longer be posted in-game and old comments cannot be accessed. User-created courses can still be uploaded and played.

The Nintendo Switch launched without Miiverse or StreetPass functionality, though its handheld nature means you can play Super Mario Odyssey on the train. That’s better than a mini-social network, right?

Did you use Miiverse? Will you miss it?
