Metroid Prime 4 release date finally set for 4 December

The wait is (almost) over.

The Metroid Prime 4 release date has finally been set — and isn’t too far away! Players can look forward to playing Metroid Prime 4 Beyond on Switch and Switch 2 from 4 December.

“After an unexpected accident, Samus finds herself transported to the mysterious planet Viewros,” Nintendo said of the title. “Scan your surroundings for clues, make the most of your equipment and weapons, and use Samus’s newfound psychic abilities – and her technologically advanced bike, the Vi-O-La – to traverse and explore the environment. You’ll need every tool at your disposal to survive and escape Viewros.”

The title will be available in two versions, one for Switch and one for Switch 2. We’ve tried the latter in a preview using mouse controls and couldn’t speak more highly of it.

Nintendo also announced that Metroid Prime 4 Beyond amiibo figures will be available ahead of and on the game’s release.

“Samus (Metroid Prime 4: Beyond) and Samus & Vi-O-La (Metroid Prime 4: Beyond) will be available 6th November, and enigmatic bounty hunter Sylux (Metroid Prime 4: Beyond) will launch the same day as the game on 4th December (amiibo sold separately),” Nintendo advised.

Expect Metroid Prime 4 Beyond on Switch and Switch 2 from 4 December.
