Melbourne International Games Week rallies behind PAX AUS, Unite and GCAP

The first-ever Melbourne International Games Week will “be the first to consolidate cross-industry communication and networking events for games development, business and enthusiasts this October,” according to organisers.

The event centres around three high-profile games conferences in Australia: Unite, GCAP and PAX AUS, and offers up a range of experienced speakers.

The keynote for Unite Melbourne 2015 is Adam Brennecke, Lead Programmer and Executive Producer of Obsidian’s Pillars of Eternity. Brennecke will also share insights from his work on titles like Fallout: New Vegas, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.

GCAP 2015’s keynote speaker is Brie Code, an ex-Ubisoft Montreal developer who’s worked on titles such as Child of Light, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed III. Code is also on the advisory committee for YES Montreal’s Advancing Women in STEM through Mentorship Project.

The inaugural Melbourne International Games Week will take place between 23 October and 1 November. Early bird ticket sales, including ticket bundles for Unite, GCAP and PAX, are available here or here.
