Melbourne gaming bar GG EZ is closing down this week

Say it ain't so!

Melbourne gaming bar GG EZ will close its doors this week following six(ish) years of service.

The establishment has blamed its closure on rising costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is with sadness that we announce that this Friday 25 August will be our LAST NIGHT,” the bar said on Twitter.

“Unfortunately we haven’t been able to keep up with rising costs post-COVID, and so GGEZ will be closing its doors this week,” it continued. “Thank you all for an incredible 6 years of GGEZ. GLHF.”

GG EZ opened back in September of 2017 and, like everyone else, had to lock itself down in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s faced competition of late in the form of the Fortress Melbourne megaplex, also located in Melbourne’s CBD.

You’ve got just two short days to visit and get your goodbyes in, Melburnians. Feel free to share some great memories of GG EZ in the comments area, below.
