MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death refused classification in Australia

Just when you thought it was safe to release games in Australia, the Classification Board sends out a ruling that changes everything.

The AusVGClassifications Twitter account has just advised that Meiq: Labyrinth of Death has just been refused classification in the country.

The Board says that MeiQ, a Vita title, contains “matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that they offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults.” We’re awaiting a full report.

Interestingly enough, the game was given a T for Teen rating in North America’s ESRB ratings system.

The last game to be refused classification in Australia was Hotline Miami 2, early last year.

We’ll have more as it develops.
