Mega Man Dual Override coming 2027, fans asked to design boss

To consoles old and new.

Mega Man Dual Override was announced last night at The Game Awards, and is planned for consoles old and new sometime in 2027.

While we don’t know much about the upcoming game, Capcom has also announced that fans are encouraged to enter “a special boss design contest” that has already kicked off and runs through into January.

“We are now taking entries on X (formerly Twitter) for a Robot Master Design Contest for Mega Man: Dual Override,” reads the contest’s webpage. “Use the model below as the base to create your own unique design for a Robot Master with a giant suction arm!”

Dual Override‘s release coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Mega Man franchise.

“The Blue Bomber first began busting bots in 1987 and instantly captivated players with rewarding gameplay, colourful characters, and rockin’ music,” Capcom said. “Since then, the franchise has sold more than 43 million units worldwide and jumped beyond the world of games into comics, TV series, and more.”

Mega Man Dual Override heads to Windows PC via Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2 in 2027.
