Mass Effect: Andromeda’s release date is still up in the air

EA’s Blake Jorgensen today said that while Mass Effect: Andromeda is “one of the greatest Mass Effect [titles he’s] ever seen,” it’s most likely not going to be released in the first quarter of 2017.

Mass Effect is a great brand, and this is one that’s loved by many people, it’s a combination of sci-fi and action, and this is probably one of the greatest Mass Effect [titles] I’ve ever seen,” he told attendees at the UBS Global Technology Conference. “I mean, it’s just a spectacular product.”

Jorgensen continued to say that EA is unsure if Andromeda will be released ahead of 31 March next year.

“I think it’ll sell well both this year and next year, he said. “We haven’t yet stated an exact ship date, but it will most likely ship near the end of the year or possibly early next year, we don’t know yet, but it’ll depend on when the product is fully finished.

“At the end of the day it’s a product that will sell well, for the next one to three years. We continue to sell Mass Effect in our catalog, and that’s important for our business long-term.”

We’ll let you know when a release date is set.
