Mario Party 10 heading to Wii U in March; amiibo compatible

Mario Party 10 and its new amiibo Party Mode will be available from March, Nintendo confirmed today.

Alongside a range of Mario-themed amiibos timed for the launch of the game, the game also offers a limited edition bundled with a Mario amiibo.

All up, Mario Party 10 will support nine amiibos: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Bowser, Rosalina, Donkey Kong and Wario.

You can use your current Super Smash Bros.-themed amiibos in the game — the Mario with the black-and-yellow base rather than the red as an example — but be warned: you’ll have to delete your amiibo’s Super Smash Bros. data first. We’re checking with Nintendo to see if data can be backed up in any way as to not be lost.

Mario Party 10 will be available for Wii U from 20 March.
