Mario Kart 8 will have a second-screen experience on smartphones, tablets and PC

Nintendo has entered the second-screen experience arena with a smartphone app that will launch alongside Mario Kart 8.

The app, called “Mario Kart TV”, will let you view and share highlight reels as well as view leaderboards. The app will also work on PC, leading us to believe the smartphone app is more of a mobile site.

Due to that mobile site nature, the “app” should work on most smartphones and tablets from 31 May.

Mario Kart 8 is also available from 31 May. Those who buy and register the title before 31 July will receive 1 of 10 free Wii U titles.
