Lucky Pokemon now available in Pokémon Go via trades

Lucky Pokemon are the newest Pokémon Go feature, developer Niantic today confirmed.

Lucky Pokémon are just that — lucky. According to Niantic, any Pokémon has the chance to become a Lucky Pokémon after a trade. Lucky Pokémon will take less Stardust to power up to maximum CP. As you can see in the image above, Lucky Pokémon will also get a snazzy new background.

The longer you’ve had a Pokémon, the more likely it will become a Lucky Pokémon after a trade, Niantic also confirmed.

“Whether or not being in storage causes Pokémon to become Lucky Pokémon remains a mystery, but be sure to stay posted for more results from the professor’s research,” Niantic wrote.

Lucky Pokemon are now inside Pokémon Go across both iOS and Android devices. Happy trading!
