Life is Strange: Before the Storm will let you play as Max if you buy the Deluxe Edition

Life is Strange: Before the Storm will let you play as the original game’s Max, as long as you purchase its Deluxe Edition.

Considering the original game takes place as Max arrives in a new town, it makes sense she won’t appear in the prequel. Instead, it will revolve around familiar characters Chloe and Rachel.

“We know that many of you would love to see more from Max”, the game’s Tumblr says. “Due to the way in which the first game ended, we didn’t want to canonize one group of players’ choices over the other – a sentiment echoed strongly by our community. That being said, we will still be giving you one final chance to play as Max through the self-contained bonus “Farewell” episode, which takes place long before the events of Before the Storm.”

The standalone episode is only available as part of the Deluxe Edition, the post continues. DONTNOD calls the addition “a bonus episode for those who would like to play as [Max] one last time.”

The first episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 on 31 August.
