L.A. Noire too big to fit on the Switch’s HDD

Rockstar’s L.A. Noire is the first Nintendo Switch title that won’t fit on its hard drive (HDD).

The Rockstar support knowledge base says that while the Switch technically has a 32GB hard drive, some of that space is reserved… so all 29GB of L.A. Noire won’t fit. That means a MicroSD is needed to beef up that storage space.

Buying physically won’t save hard drive space either — the physical cartridge version “will require a 14 GB digital download containing required gameplay data as well as general bug fixes and improvements,” Rockstar advised.

Considering the amount of games heading to Switch, a sizeable MicroSD is a pretty smart purchase. And hey — despite the size requirements, L.A. Noire was always a large game; it took up four discs on Xbox 360.

L.A. Noire heads to Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch on 14 November.
