Konami, Bloober Team partner for new game amidst Silent Hill rumours

Please let the rumours be true...

Konami and Bloober Team have officially announced a partnership, months after rumours a new Silent Hill game was on the way from the maker of The Medium and Layers of Fear.

“Konami, one of the world’s largest game publisher, and Bloober Team, have signed a strategic cooperation agreement,” a statement from Bloober Team reads. “It will include jointly developing selected contents and exchanging know-how.”

The statement continues on to say that Konami owns IPs including PES, Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Castlevania and Contra, and considering Bloober Team’s track record, Silent Hill seems the best fit. Back in February of this year, rumours suggested that Bloober Team had already started work on a Silent Hill project, so there’s that too.

For now, neither party seems willing to confirm if Bloober Team is working on new IP or reaniminating one of the many dormant pieces of IP sitting with Konami.

“We are excited to work with Bloober Team and other highly regarded development partners to produce games from existing and new IPs,” a Konami representative told us in a statement.

We’ll have more on the project as it’s announced.

The Medium is currently available on Windows PC and Xbox Series S & X; it heads to PS5 in September.
