Kogan to resurrect Dick Smith brand as an online retail store

Australian-based retailer Kogan is looking to resurrect the Dick Smith brand as an online retailer.

“Dick Smith is one of the most iconic Australian retail brands and we will be able to leverage the millions of dollars we’ve invested into online retail systems and architecture over the last decade to sustainably run the business,” Kogan’s Ruslan Kogan said to Fairfax.

Kogan has purchased the Dick Smith brand, website and its customer database. This comes after the voluntary administration of Dick Smith Electronics in January this year, and subsequent store closures in February.

“Ultimately, a brand grows when it delivers on its promises,” Kogan added. “We will work tirelessly to exceed the expectations of every Dick Smith customer with a beautiful shopping experience.”

We’ll have more on this as it becomes available.
