Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 translator says he was “fired… and replaced with AI”

Warhorse Studios has yet to comment.

Former Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 English language editor Max Hejtmánek has taken to social media to claim that he was fired by Warhorse Studios after allegedly being told his position will be replaced by AI in the future.

“I primarily worked on KCD2 and its DLCs, including dialogues, quest logs, item names, and various other things,” Hejtmánek wrote on a Reddit post, in which moderators of the specific subreddit have since vetted his identity. “Simply put, if you’ve ever played KCD2 in English, you’ve quite likely seen my work.

“[On 27 March], with no forewarning, I was invited to a meeting and promptly told that, in an effort to ‘make the company more effective’ and ‘save finances,’ as of next month, my position at the company would become ‘obsolete’ in favour of using AI for all translations going forward,” Hejtmánek continued.

Warhorse has yet to comment on the matter.

Waves of layoffs have been taking place across the industry at the moment, with Epic Games recently disclosing it had laid off more than 1,000 employees
