Kind Words 2 will let you be nice to real people in 2024

A sequel to the 2019 original is in the works.

Kind Words 2 was today announced during the Day of the Devs Game Awards 2023 Edition, a follow up to the 2019 original.

“The first Kind Words invited players to exchange worries and letters of comfort in 2019,” reads a press release from developer Popcannibal. “And boy, did they! Over 5 million letters of kindness, support, and emotional connection were exchanged.”

The original won a BAFTA for Game Beyond Entertainment and was a Games for Impact nominee at the 2019 Game Awards.

“We made Kind Words 2 because there aren’t enough online spaces where strangers can be fearlessly open and caring without worrying about likes, subscribes, followers, and any other garbage that gets in between people just talking to each other,” said Popcannibal’s Ziba Scott.

This new iteration promises further polish “and adds a new area filled with new ways for us to share kind words”.

“Players will still send encouraging letters from their cozy, customizable room, but will also be able to step outside and explore the new lofi city,” the press release continued. “There, they can dress up and interact with the community in new ways, including sharing poetry, swapping recommendations, and filling the sky with wishes.”

You can get a taste of what to expect above.

Players can expect Kind Words 2 sometime in 2024 on Windows PC, Mac and Linux, all via Steam.
