Kevin Afghani is the new voice of Mario and Luigi

And you'll get to hear him in Super Mario Bros Wonder.

Kevin Afghani has been confirmed as the new voice of Mario and Luigi, and will debut as both characters in the upcoming Super Mario Bros Wonder.

Afghani himself took to Twitter with the news.

“Incredibly proud to have voiced Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” Afghani wrote. “Thanks to Nintendo for inviting me into the Flower Kingdom!”

Afghani also provides the voice for Genshin Impact‘s Arnold. He’ll debut as Mario and Luigi within Wonder later this month… and Elephant Mario too (above). Afghani may also be providing the voice of Wario inside the upcoming WarioWare Move It; it’s not yet confirmed who will be voicing the character in longtime actor Charles Martinet’s absence.

Both Martinet and Nintendo announced the actor would be stepping down from his many voice roles in August of this year. Martinet has transitioned to the role of Mario Ambassador, though it’s unclear as to what that entails.

Expect Super Mario Bros Wonder on Nintendo Switch from 20 October, and WarioWare Move It! on Nintendo Switch from 3 November.
