Kayo ups 4K streaming subscription to $40 AUD/month

Yikes.

Kayo’s 4K streaming subscription will jump from $35 AUD per month to $40 AUD per month, the streaming service has recently revealed.

Kayo currently has two plans: Kayo One (1 x 1080p stream) and Kayo Basic (2 x 4K streams). As part of this change on 4 March 2025, Kayo Basic will be renamed to Kayo Premium. The amount of streams attached to Premium doesn’t change, but its price sure does.

Kayo One remains unimpacted at $25 AUD per month.

The news comes as Disney has announced it will bundle ESPN as part of its Disney+ packages, which are far cheaper than Kayo. While ESPN will allow users the opportunity to watch sports like NFL, NHL, the NBA, and the MLB, it doesn’t have access to Kayo’s AFL, NRL, and the like.

“Fox Footy is launching it’s brand-new AFL Super Saturday, with the first 8 rounds of Saturday footy exclusively LIVE to Fox Footy, available on Kayo,” Foxtel said in an email about the change.

“Fox League is also returning to Las Vegas to kick off the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership Season, and will be the only place you can watch both season openers LIVE.”
