Kane cross-checked off NHL 16’s cover as a result of sexual assault allegations

EA Sports today confirmed it has removed Chicago Blackhawks right-winger Patrick Kane (above, right) from the cover of NHL 16 over recent sexual assault allegations.

Charges against Kane are pending after a report was filed against the player last week in New York. Kane might also face suspension from the Blackhawks.

In addition from removing Kane from NHL 16‘s cover, the publisher also stated that he will no longer be part of promotional activities for the game.

The change means the Blackhawks’ Jonathan Toews will appear solo on NHL 16‘s cover.

NHL 16 will be available from mid-September on Xbox One and PS4.
