Just Dance World Cup: An Australian tries to take out a two-time champion this month

Ubisoft today confirmed details of the Just Dance World Cup (JDWC). Now in its third year, the finals will take place over 17-19 February during Paris’ Esports World Convention.

Finalists will perform choreography from Just Dance 2017 and Just Dance Unlimited, judged by a panel comprised of choreographers, developers and even a singer. The panel includes:

  • Barbara Chane Kane (Just Dance Associate Choreograph Director)
  • Mehdi Kerkouche (Choreographer)
  • Olivier Adelh (Just Dance Lead Designer)
  • Damien Pousse (Just Dance Associate Creative Director)
  • Gigi Rowe (Pop Singer, artist on “Run the Night” from Just Dance 2017)

The winning dancer will visit the Ubisoft Paris studio for a week, working with the developer on a “special song that will be created and integrated into the game through Just Dance Unlimited for the next JDWC.”

Australia’s entrant in the competition is Denzal Van Uitregt, pictured above, who’ll have his work cut out for him against two-time World Champion, Brazilian Diegho San.

The finals kick off at 3.30 am AEDT on 20 February, and will be livestreamed on the World Cup website.

Just Dance 2017 is available now on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U and heads to the Nintendo Switch shortly. We reviewed the game here.
