Jumplight Odyssey is going for a 70’s sci-fi anime vibe

And we dig it!

Jumplight Odyssey was today announced by Aussie developer League of Geeks.

“Gather survivors, repair and build out your starship, brave black holes, and fend off pirates, all while managing the daily soap opera of your colorful crew,” the studio said of its upcoming title, also describing it was “FTL-meets-Star Blazers”.

“Take the helm of a Jumplight Starship as it flees its destroyed homeworld and lead your people to their salvation, the fabled Forever Star,” a press release continued. “Chart a course forward, jump to mysterious new systems, recruit crew members, and build out the ship’s interior while avoiding space pirate attacks, black holes, and the relentless pursuit of Admiral Voltan and the warmongering Zutopans in a roguelite colony sim inspired by genre staples and classic 70s sci-fi anime.”

Take a look at what to expect below.

Jumplight Odyssey is planned for early access on Windows PC via Steam sometime in 2023.
