JB Hi-Fi next-gen pre-orders need to be paid off in 5 days

Any JB Hi-Fi next-gen pre-orders will need to be paid off within 5 days, the retailer has declared.

“Great news! Your PS5 Console pre-order is ready for final payment,” a message from the retailer to pre-order customers reads.

“Avoid the wait by choosing Click & Collect to pick up from your local JB store on Release day. Pay now at [link]. Be quick and don’t lose your spot in the queue. Link expires Sunday 11 October 11:59pm.”

JB told customers earlier this week that “a link to pay the remaining balance for your new console” would be sent shortly, but didn’t indicate the timeframe in which the payment was to be made. The same communication also informed customers that gift cards cannot be used as a source of payment, much to the chagrin of those hoping to use the spoils of Christmas or birthday presents.

At present, the messages only appear to be sent to PS5 customers with launch day pre-orders. Update, 1:30pm: JB Hi-Fi is now sending messages to Xbox Series launch customers with the same instructions and five-day payment window.

The Xbox Series S and X hit store shelves on 10 November, followed by the PS5 on 12 November.
