It’s cost, not hardware, preventing a Pokkén Tournament release on 3DS

Speaking with GameSpotPokkén Tournament developers Katsuhiro Harada and Masaaki Hoshino said it was cost, not hardware limitations, preventing a release on 3DS.

“It’s definitely a challenge to get it on the Wii U with what we’re doing right now,” Hoshino said. “And it definitely would be a challenge to have the same graphical experience on the 3DS.”

That said, the pair thought it was possible — at a cost.

“Programmer does not need technology. Programmer needs budget,” Harada concluded.

The arcade fighter will soon be available on Wii U.
