iOS 16 pairs with Switch Joy-Cons

Rejoice, Apple and Nintendo fans!

The newly announced iOS 16 operating system will pair with Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers, it’s been discovered.

iOS devices can currently pair with Bluetooth enabled controllers including the Xbox Wireless Controller, PlayStation DualShock 4 and DualSense and more, but have never been compatible with Joy-Cons.

According to iOS 16 tester Riley Testut, that’s all about to change.

“iOS 16 natively supports Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers,” Testut wrote. “Can confirm they work perfectly with Delta.”

While it’s good news for most, iOS 16 will not be supported on iPhone 7 or below, iPhone SE (first gen) and a range of iPad and iPad Pro models.

We’ll let you know when iOS 16 is available to the public.
