Hyper Scape open beta heads to PC (and Australia!) right now

Hyper Scape open beta will be offered on PC and, unlike its last test, will be worldwide. This means Australians will get their first shot at Ubisoft’s new battle royale from [date].

The Hyper Scape is waiting,” the description of the video below reads. “Join the Open Beta and prove you have what it takes to become a champion of Crown Rush. Download and play for free on Uplay PC [here].

In Ubisoft Forward today, Ubisoft confirmed the open beta would be available worldwide, unlike its previous, limited technical test. It will feature two limited-time modes, a new hack, a new weapon and a free 30-tier Battle Pass to experiment with. Better still, any rewards earned in the open beta will carry over into the game’s full retail release.

In our introduction to the game, we called Hyper Scape “a free-to-play BR game that looks equal parts Ready Player One, Tron and The Hunger Games.” It also will integrate Twitch in new and kinda neat ways, letting spectators set battle conditions and also providing the chance to level up Battle Passes while doing so. We also had the chance to grill designer Chris Pope to get more information about what to expect from the shooter.

Hyper Scape is set for a release in the next few months across “PC and consoles” — we’re assuming Xbox One and PS4.
