Hogwarts Legacy will let you play as a transgender character

Take THAT, JK Rowling!

Hogwarts Legacy will let you play as a transgender character, a new report from Bloomberg declares.

Citing anonymous sources, the outlet reports that players will be able to customise their character’s body type, select a masculine or female voice and then assign the character as either a “witch” or “wizard”.

The report comes after a whirlwind of negative press for the upcoming Harry Potter RPG. First, publisher Warner Bros. was forced to declare that Harry Potter creator JK Rowling wasn’t directly involved with the game after the author took to social media with anti-transgender messaging. Last month, it was discovered that the title’s lead designer has published dozens of YouTube videos attacking feminism and those against the Gamergate movement.

Warner Bros. declined to comment on Bloomberg’s report.

Hogwarts Legacy is expected in 2022 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4 and PS5.
