Hogwarts Legacy delayed to 2022

The Harry Potter RPG needs more time for polish.

The Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed to 2022, Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software have today declared.

“We would like to thank fans from around the world on the tremendous reaction to the announcement of Hogwarts Legacy from our Portkey Games label,” a statement on Twitter began.

“Creating the best possible experience for all of the Wizarding World and gaming fans is paramount to us so we are giving the game the time it needs.”

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s Portkey Games, Hogwarts Legacy is developed by Disney Infinity‘s Avalanche Software. The title is set at Hogwarts in the 1800s (meaning Harry, Ron or Hermione will not appear) and has gone to great lengths to distance itself from J.K. Rowlings’ recent spate of transphobic comments.

Hogwarts Legacy is now expected in 2022 on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S & X, PS4 and PS5.
