Hitman 3 announced, coming in 2021

Hitman 3 was today announced by IO Interactive, coming to next-gen console(s) in 2021.

The developer calls this the conclusion of its world assassination trilogy, and also calls these sets of contracts Agent 47’s most personal and intimate. A reveal trailer was today accompanied by a gameplay trailer – both of these are below for you to take a look at.

Hitman 3 has a much darker tone than the previous games in the trilogy”, said Mattias Engström, Game Director. “On top of the core Hitman experience, we are mixing in some surprise elements, an evocative atmosphere and a very real sense of closure.”

“I am immensely proud and excited to announce HITMAN 3,” added Hakan Abrak, CEO of IO Interactive. “This game will be self-published by IOI and will come directly from us to our passionate fanbase. The entire IOI team is ready and determined to deliver a pinnacle Hitman experience.”

The title will add six new locations, but also act “as a platform for the entire trilogy,” IO Interactive confirmed, meaning players can import locations from Hitman and Hitman 2.

Take a look at Hitman 3 in action below. What do you make of it?

Hitman 3 will head to Windows PC, Xbox Series X and PS5 in 2021.
