Hikaru Utada, Skrillex partner for Kingdom Hearts 3 theme song

Update: Square Enix has released a new video that shows off the game’s opening, and it features “Face My Fears”. It’s below.

Original story [1 October 2018]: Hikaru Utada and Skrillex have partnered to create Kingdom Hearts 3‘s opening theme song, Square Enix recently confirmed.

Utada, pictured above, has been tied to Kingdom Hearts from its beginning — “Simple & Clean” was the theme song of the original Kingdom Hearts, while “Sanctuary” or “Passion” headed the English and Japanese versions of Kingdom Hearts 2.

This time around, Utada will work win eight-time Grammy Award winning Skrillex on “Don’t Think Twice,” the official theme song of Kingdom Hearts 3.

Square also confirmed that another song, “Face My Fears,” has been produced with Poo Bear, an “acclaimed record producer who previously produced Justin Bieber’s multi-platinum selling single, ‘What Do You Mean?'”. Both songs will be available from 18 January 2019.

Kingdom Hearts 3 heads to Xbox One and PS4 on 29 January 2019.
