Hi-Rez uses Paladins to throw its hat into the battle royale ring

Paladins: Battlegrounds is Hi-Rez’s take on the battle royale genre.

Announced at Hi-Rez Expo today, the developer announced that this new version of Paladins is a 100 player experience and will be available in 2018.

Calling itself original by being the “first-ever hero-shooter battle royale,” Paladins: Battlegrounds will offer up mounts, maps and loot.

“Riding on a mount through this massive fantasy-themed map, looking for gear and cooperating with your team, Paladins: Battlegrounds delivers some of the feel of open-world MMO PvP but all within a 20-minute match,” said Todd Harris, Executive Producer of Paladins.

Paladins: Battlegrounds will be free-to-play and is expected to be added into Paladins in 2018.
