Hi-Rez lays off staff; dev ends on Smite, Paladins, and Rogue Company

Whoa.

Hi-Rez Studios has laid off up to 60 staff members and has also ended development work on three properties: Smite, Paladins, and Rogue Company.

Reports of layoffs first came from Smite YouTuber Hayzerwho reported that between 50-60 layoffs took place within Hi-Rez.

The report was then followed by a post to Twitter by Hocky2001, featuring a Discord message allegedly from Hi-Rez.

SMITE 1, Paladins, and Rogue Company servers will remain available for the foreseeable future, but no further major updates are currently planned for these games,” reads a portion of the message.

We’ll report back as we learn more.
