Here’s how Pokémon GO will work

Developer Niantic Games recently detailed how elements of Pokémon GO will work, including capturing Pokémon, battles and gyms.

As you walk around the real work, the free-to-play iOS or Android app will alert you to nearby Pokémon. You’ll be able to capture said beasts by using Pokéballs. Pretty standard stuff.

Battles will be performed by swiping left and right on your screen. Battles can be undertaken to control nearby gyms. Once victorious, you’ll be able to leave your own Pokémon behind to defend the gym from opposing teams.

We’ll have more on Pokémon GO as it becomes available.
