Henry Cavill lives and breathes The Witcher through games, books

Henry Cavill, who’ll portray Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher TV series on Netflix, has said he has lived and breathed the popular franchise.

“I discovered the games, then I discovered the books, and the universe of The Witcher instantly meant something to me,” Cavill told French outlet Premiere (as translated by Reddit).

“I often thought about playing Geralt. When the opportunity appeared, I didn’t let the chance pass me… I didn’t even have the need to prepare myself for the role. Because I breathe, I live this universe every day. I already got numerous opportunities to think about this character while I was playing the games.”

The Witcher is scheduled for release sometime in late 2019, exclusive to Netflix. We’ll have more on the show when it comes to light.
