Harmonix expects a shortage of new Rock Band 4 instruments

All of you that have kept old guitar controllers should be smiling at this point, as Harmonix CEO Steven Janiak thinks there will be a shortage of new Rock Band 4 peripherals.

“The response to our announcement of Rock Band 4 has been incredible,” Janiak said to IGN. “And as a result, demand from both retailers and consumers for product has exceeded our expectations.

“While we’ll do everything we can to meet demand, the realities of manufacturing and getting hardware on shelves means that we can’t guarantee hardware for everyone on day one without a pre-order.”

Do you think Janiak is genuine, or just trying to encourage pre-orders?
