Grace is an environmentalist indie game looking for crowdfunding

Grace is an environmentalist indie game looking for crowdfunding on Kickstarter, its developer Swampa Studios has advised.

The 2D title “is a short story-based game about two field technicians working in the Sierra Nevada of California,” Swampa wrote on the game’s Kickstarter page. “They’re tasked with monitoring the nests of the Ruddy Quail but discover that the study design won’t work because of human impacts on the ecosystem. They have to decide whether to continue collecting data or to tell the nearby townspeople about the problem.”

The game’s protagonists, Grace and Kiran, are able to use a field guide to identify flora and fauna found throughout its campaign. Apart from the fictional Ruddy Quail (voiced by the Mountain Quail), all flora and fauna found within Grace can actually be found within California’s Sierra Nevada region.

The title’s already hit its $2862 AUD goal but it looking to hit a stretch goal in order to commission pieces for the in-game field guide.

You can learn more about Grace — and support it, if you choose — right here. Moreover, you can head here to play an in-browser demo of the game.

Grace is planned for release on PC via itch.io (and Steam if a stretch goal is met).
